Just as the first Waterstrider was built about two years ago as a way to get my six year old son back on the water, you can also build your own Waterstrider for yourself and your family.  Waterstriders are not as tippy as a canoe and hardly rocked at all. Waterstriders are one of the most difficult watercraft to actually capsize.

The Waterstrider is the perfect answer to anyone with a healthy fear of the water. The Waterstrider is made from ¼ inch marine plywood with cedar bow and stern posts and a hemlock frame. They are eight feet long and vary from twenty-four inches wide to twenty-six inches wide at the waist. The boats weight in at only forty pounds and if you wanted to, you could even stant to paddle.
